Description / Notes:
A fun 15 mile ride over easy, well marked trails. We will ride on Rail Trail, gravel roads, and dirt tracks to the halfway hold of 20 min before you turn around and ride back to ride camp. This is a great introduction ride for newbies or novices. Ride site has space to camp overnight with your horse, water, bathroom, use of hall facilities. After the ride, we celebrate with pizza and icecream cake before handing out the awards. For more info about this ride or Distance Riding in general – contact Jacqui at ar*********@*****il.com
Your horse will be inspected by the judge before and after the ride – and checked for health/fitness at the halfway hold (we call this ‘fit to continue’)
Hoof protection is recommended due to crushed stone on the gravel roads.
The actual ride time of this event is about 4 hours at mostly walk/trot.
You must be a member of your provincial sport organization to participate in this event (insurance requirement). But you don’t have to be a member of ACTRA.
Bring your own lunch/breakfast/snacks/drinks – pizza after the ride! If you are bringing an extra person and they want to join in for pizza – add $10 to your entry – can also be added the day of the ride.
